I posted a bunch of shelves in a Facebook garage sale group for sale. Obviously I had priced them too cheap ($10 or $15 depending on size) and had people flood my post fighting over them with a couple of hours. First lady comes over to get a set and noticed some other shelves (more like a book case) in the corner of my shop and asked about it. I had a mattress & box spring set propped in front of it and moved it, commenting the mattress was trash, so she could look. She tells me I should advertise both the book case and the mattress/springs because people would buy them quickly.

This twin mattress was clean when it was pulled from the guest room of my parent's house, but it has been in my shop for months. It's covered with dust, dirt and spider webs. But like a *******, I listened to the lady and posted it for sale on facebook for $20 just to get rid of it. Big mistake. I didn't think it through. You know who I had reply? A bunch of people shopping for $20 used, dirty mattresses on facebook.

The first reply simply says "want". Then they line up calling dibs. I PM the first lady and simply give her my phone number and ask her to call me. She doesn't. Instead she replies back asking if I'll take $15. I point out there is a line of people offering to give $20 (when in reality I'd give it away for free if some lazy ass would just drive over) and tell here it's first come, first serve. Then she asks me if it has stains (even though I posted two clear pics). I explain no stains, just the typical dirt, dust and spider webs associated when being stored in a shop for several months. Then she asks if I'll clean it for her. :pissed: I didn't even reply. I was afraid I'd have to deliver it if I did.

TLDR: Posted FS ad for dirty $20 mattress and had potential dirty $20 mattress buyers reply.

Is it still available for $20?
It's available for free.

Heh...

...is your time worth the $20, considering you are now spending a lot of time on Facebook?
I really just wanted it gone. I'm going to probably rent a dumpster in the spring. I've got a lot of crap from my renovations, my parent's renovations and some rental properties. The junk is just taking too much room in my shop.

Technically, it is illegal to sell a used mattress. Just FYI.
Don't worry. I ripped off the "Do Not Remove" tag so the gov't can't trace it back to me. But that would suck to get arrest on an undercover used mattress sting.

My sister got a new sofa. The old sofa was still in good shape, she just thought it ugly, her hub had bought it.

So, she sets old sofa on the curb and puts a 'FREE' sign on it.
A week goes by, several stop and look, but drive off.

She flips the sign over and puts '$100' on it.

A week goes by, several stop and look, then drive off.

She marks through the $100 and puts $50.

Many look but no takers.

Thurs afternoon a young woman stops and looks. My sister goes to talk to her. The girl asked if she would take $25 and hold it till Sat, so she could get paid?

Sister told her, if she wanted to take it now, it was free. The girl says, "so you won't take $20?"
