I'm looking to get an AR and have about 800.00 to spend right now. I really want the DPMS AP4 but i don't think i can find one for 800.00 out the door. So i guess i'm going to have to settle and buy the oracle. What should i look to spend on one and are there other brands that are equal to the DPMS AP4 for less??? looking to buy it tomorrow morning so any help would be appreciated

This is a much better deal:

If you can tolerate a 1/9 twist barrel (and if it were made by Sabre Defense, I would have no problem with it), this is an even better deal:

Both prices are delivered.

Even with the above said, I've beat this price several times now with a carbine made with a Sabre Defense upper, an LMT upper, and barely above this price on an all Noveske rifle.

That's a lot of money for a completed Noveske lower (granted, it comes with a UBR, CTR, and a PMAG, but still - $535 is pretty high. I paid $375 for a used one recently with a CAA Stock and an MOE grip (and an MOE trigger guard) and KNS Pins. Granted, I swapped the stock for a different one, but you're spending a lot of money there that I would use to upgrade your barrel or quad-rail instead (make sure you've got a good barrel/bolt/carrier above all else).

Unfortunately, you missed out on the Daniel Defense super-cheap barrels on Bravocompanyusa.com - but there are good barrels out there for a decent price (barrel quality makes a huge difference, especially when getting one that's chrome-lined, and just in case you ever shoot this gun above 100yds).

If you want to build one, I'd maybe upgrade the trigger, grip, stock, with something nice, but not necessarily break the bank before I got the right bolt/carrier/barrel and then spent money on a good Quad-rail.

Check weaponparts.com for a decent Troy rail system - that's pretty much the lowest-end rail I'd put on a rifle with the kind of high-end parts you're looking at (preferably a DD Lite - I absolutely love mine).

You'll be hard pressed to beat Magpul for the money (on just about anything they make).

I'd be sure to find out from the seller of that auction what LPK he used when building that Noveske (and if its a factory blem receiver) before you pay for it.

And check here:

for my opinion on all the parts you can look at to build a top-notch AR.
