Where are the hawks?

I have two that roost in my back yard every night.

I have three here in the trees just South of Davenport. They move from one side of my acreage to the other during the day. I don't see them catching very many rabbits but more field mice and voles.

Maybe its just in the NW part of the state?
Went to the farm today, and saw two. Typically from Ponca to I35 there are a dozen or so. I kept Okies report in mind when driving over. Nothing from I35 west.

Hawks do not catch many gophers, as gophers spend 99% of the time underground.

There's something about cutting hay that brings the little buggers out. I may rig a scabbard for my .410...

I think all your hawks have relocated to this dead pin oak tree in my back yard.

On my little iphone screen those raptors in the tree appear to be all kites. I Could be wrong.

I think Justin is right. I usually see them along 412 between I-35 and Enid, it's usually 1 hawk to every third wood post.

I am headed that way next week for a family vacation to the Hillsdale, Goltry, Nash metroplex and will check it out. (We are going to dig for crystals, watch the bats and eat a Chicken Fry from Grumpy Joe's!)

1 for every 3 posts generally is during the migrating months of winter when our numbers go through the roof. Summer breeders are few compared to fall and winter.
