Get off my lawn.
Which pro version do you have? I check at newegg and found they have several different versions. Should I get the win7 OEM or Win7 pro Full?

thanks.

To get the oem version you'll have to order a piece of hardware like a hard drive or something. That is how I'd buy it. I'm not sure if they have an upgrade offer or not. Seems like they did. It will be cheaper as well, but I think you have to have Vista already to use it.

If you're running Win XP or Vista now, get the upgrade. It will do a fresh install and move all of your old files into a folder called windows.old so you don't lose them. You also need to make sure your computer will run Win 7. Microsoft has a program that will tell you if you can use it, just google for it.

If you're starting with a new computer build or one that isn't running Win XP or Vista, you'll have to buy a piece of hardware with it, but get the OEM version. Save over $100 not including the hardware cost.

64 bit OEM Pro:

32 bit OEM Pro:

You need to figure out if you can run the 64bit version or not. If you can, get it. It runs better on my 64bit computer than it does on my 32 bit laptop.

If that piece of hardware is replaced or dies, your OS is now out of compliance with your license agreement.

This is what I bought, I'm going to build it from scratch.

I'm going to use this computer for: internet browsing, school, job related stuffs, games, youtube :), movie when my nephew come over, graphic design. That's all, I hope this system is good enough for it.

Also, I was wondering if I can use the software to upgrade my old computer from XP pro to win7 pro. My current computer CPU is AMD Athlon x64 Dual Core.

I'd get the OEM 64bit Win 7 Pro to go with that if it were me.
