6.0l Powerstroke High Idle

Just did this mod on my 03' 6.0l. This will allow you to have high idle for your A/C when sitting or parked and for winter time warm up. Not sure if it works on all years of the 6.0, it did on mine though. Much cheaper than buying a AID and only takes about 15min to do, just thought I would pass along.

It works on all 6.0s and 7.3s as well its simply activating the PTO idle function although most dont have a PTO option unless you have a dump bed or hay spike...etc.

Its a good mod, I did that on my 07. If you have the dip switches on the dash you can hook it up to one of those.

Get the Ford gold coolant out of it and delete the EGR and it will be bullet proof. Do a coolant flush with the CAT flush product and then use red ELC (Extended Life Coolant) from CAT and it will be good for 500,000 miles.
Ford gold has silicates in it that fall out into solid particles and clog the oil cooler resulting in flash boiling coolant and blown head gaskets. Measure the oil temp and coolant temp and it they are more than 8* different, your oil cooler is already clogged and this will happen again.

yes, we just deleted the egr, arp head studs the whole 9 yards. every time i send one in its 5 k minimum, 6.4 and the 6.0's the last 6.0 i got rid of it only had 140k on it they wanted 9,200.00 to replace the busted heads. it was getting diesel in the coolant. i cant believe the cost and problems we have out of these fords. we have 40+

Absolutely. The oil cooler and EGR are the 2 main issues with these trucks. the coolant causes the oil cooler failure and the EGR cooler is just going to fail do to age. I did all this to my rig last winter.
Its well documented in a lot of places.
