I am a frugal person, my kids call me "cheap", I say it's thrifty, but whatever. That said, until recently, I never really stockpiled much in ammo. I filled up a standard ammo box with .40, so I have about 500-ish rounds for that XD that fell into the pond while I fishing this summer. And I have about 600-700 rounds of .22 for grampa's old .22. with a little .223 for the rifle I was hoping to buy after Christmas (good luck with that). I need to buy some powder and primers for the BP derringer my wife bought me for our anniversary a couple of years ago, but that's my stash. I don't shoot often, the build houses all around my property, so I don't have a good place to do it anymore.
I know some of you guys keep 1000s of rounds and while I would love to do it, I have a hard time spending for it when I would rather spend my money on cars. What do you have piled up in the closet?
