those are typically the people you see rolling around the woods. Sorry, but the list you gave are not always going to be fit and trim worriors.
I know a whole lot of ditch diggers, and burger flippers that could be good candidates.

The armories where said weapons were kept would be the first to be destroyed by the rogue gubberment.

I meant no offense...what I meant was, the citizen militia would not be comprised of "early 90's" extremists...I mentioned some blue collar trades too in my quick list of examples...I meant vetted, respectable people...like volunteer firemen, etc...

I am a little lost here, what types of weapons are you talking about being banned in this 85%?

Well I answered this in one of my posts above...I mean that everything from full-auto small arms all the way up to nukes are essentially banned for the general public (which basically covers 85% of all modern weaponry)...YOU can't own an armed tank, or Stinger missile, or for the most part claymores, etc...and the few things beyond standard semi-auto guns you can own require you to pay a tax stamp and jump through extra hoops (which i understand)...essentially my plan was to try and uphold the constitution and also not have any new gun laws...I was telling the gubbermint that "I understand" why they ban F-16's for Donald Trump or RPG's for me...BUT, we should still have armories for citizens of the well-regulated militia in case the SHTF...hell, you never know...in a Red Dawn scenario, the Army might need help, AND that since 85% of all modern weaponry is essentially banned, then the liberals do not need to go after semi-auto guns which is the remaining 15% of kinds of weapons.

The semi-auto was invented in the 19th century so right now, the BEST the avg Joe can get access to under current gun laws is 19th century technology...No need to ban that too....just enforce existing gun laws except change the law to let us have citizen armories and I think it would be the best compromise to uphold the 2nd amendment in a country of 315 million people and be pragmatic...The govt has drones and tanks and we have access to 19th century weaponry only...for them to want to take us to 18th century technology (hunting rifles only, which is what liberals want) is only about control and not public safety in my opinion.

True, you can't own a full functioning tank, but you can own a tank, APC, etc. They are available in goverment auctions.
De-milled, but if one wanted to put some machining into it, they could be made into viable platforms.

The problem with Armories, is that the gubberment would focus on them in the first strike, rendering them ineffective.

Insurgents, or in my day, the gurillas, rule the day with clandestine operations. New technology in the IR field have made that a dangerous business.

This is why I asked. Aside from the Stinger, you can own those things, and much more. Yes, there are hoops to jump through and they are very expensive. I understand your point regarding SHTF scenario and having military stores for civilian use, but I think in that situation it will become a free for all and we will use whatever we can get our hands on. Still, military stores for civilian use in emergencies, that is an interesting concept.

If you notice I said "armed" tank...of course people can own old military vehicles but not fully functional...

But more importantly, my MAIN position is I just don't think it is Constitutional to ban semi-auto guns and standard capacity magazines...we need to enforce the laws we have. The other stuff was just trying to look at the 2nd amendment and come up with creative and pragmatic ideas to uphold it in a country of 315 million folks. But at the very least, 19th century technology should be available to the people and that is semi-auto rifles...the founders were not stupid..they knew technology would progress...if we can't have access to modern weaponry, we should at least have access to semi-modern small-arms....anyone agree? LOL...basically, the answer is do do nothing...keep thigns the way they are and concentrate on other areas of culture and crime to reduce gun crimes...and all violent crimes for that matter.

Yes, I noticed that. My position still stands. I am sure somebody like Dustin will come along and set me straight before long if I am wrong, but for somebody who wants to go through the hoops, anal exams and pay through the nose, they can own a functional tank, or artillery piece for that matter.

Well, I went on a buying spree the last 2 days.... made 10 or 12 trips to 6 different Wal-Marts, as well as 2 to Academy and another LGS.

Started with about 7,500 rounds total. All .223, .45, .40, 9mm and a little .357mag for my new revolver.

Here's what I walked away with after my 48-hour insanity:

.357mag 600
.45ACP 2340
9mm 1250
.223 550

And I also picked up 6,775 rounds of .22.

Which I can't shoot, as I don't have a single .22 firearm. :D
Time to go looking to buy a 15/22 or something, eh?

Brings my total up to about 19,000 rounds, but I don't really count the .22. So about 12k besides that.

if you got a garage or a way to store it, then over the year and times ahead, stack it deep gents. Started doing this after I got out of the service and got into shooting. Get as much as you can afford within your budget. Reload, it is is relaxing and cost saving. In a shtf scenario, lead reloads will kill just as well. Worked really good in the cowboy days and will in the future.

I bought 6000 bb's at Academy and we (look left) don't even own a bb gun. Apparently EF says that PaPa's bb gun is his (news to me and I bet his PaPa) but since the craze is on we bought them.
