Stoops has been going through the same grief in his tenure at OU. When you become successful, your door gets knocked on, and Gundy is such a nice Oklahoma boy he'll invite anyone in for a chat.

He wasn't thrilled with how long it took for the new contract and doesn't get along with Holder.

But, he's not going anywhere.

Arkansas is close to hiring a coach, but it's not Mike Gundy.

A person familiar with the search process who asked not to be identified because of the sensitivity of the subject said the school is nearing an announcement but said, contrary to reports by Rivals.com and the Arkansas Democrat-Gazette, it is not Gundy.

Wisconsin coach Bret Bielema has accepted the vacant coaching position at Arkansas, sources said.

Arkansas is expected to officially announce Bielema's hiring Tuesday, according to sources.

Bielema owns a 68-24 record in seven seasons at Wisconsin and has coached the Badgers to three consecutive Rose Bowl appearances.

Despite their 8-5 record this season, the Badgers secured another trip to Pasadena with their victory Saturday over Nebraska in the Big Ten Championship game.

Wisconsin has not announced whether Bielema will coach the Badgers in next month's Rose Bowl Game against Stanford.

Bielema will attempt to stabilize an Arkansas program still reeling from the controversial firing of former coach Bobby Petrino this past April. The Razorbacks struggled to a 4-8 record this season under John L. Smith.

I still don't think he is going anywhere but you never know

Mike Gundy may be headed to coach the Tennessee Volunteers, after it was revealed that he wouldn’t be announced by the Arkansas Razorbacks as their 48th head coach.
It was a wild ride of rumors and speculation around lunch time, where some pundits were already declaring Gundy as the next coach at Arkansas. But Wally Hall of the Arkansas Democrat-Gazette broke the whirlwind of rumors and said on his Twitter account, “Hogs have their coach. Not Gundy. Should be announced today”.
Gundy had never turned down the Tennessee job, and may likely be heading there now to take over a team who ranked No. 107 in defensive points allowed, and finished a dismal 1-7 in the SEC during the regular season.
Gundy has compiled at 66-35 record in his eight year career, all of those years with his alma mater Oklahoma State. He’s made a bowl with the Cowboys every year but his first. Last season, Gundy led his team to a 12-1 record, winning the Big 12 Conference and earning a trip to the Fiesta Bowl.
It has been widely believed that Gundy wouldn’t want to leave the school he played for and is now coaching. The latest offers prove that just as long as there is attractive enough job with enough perks involved, nothing is out of the question.
With it coming out that Gundy may be hired, and it turning so quickly, it leaves me inclined at first to think that Gundy had already made up his mind about coaching at Tennessee and simply turned the Arkansas offer down. But then why an announcement that Arkansas had found a guy so quickly? Many questions that will likely be answered in the coming days.
