I personally dont see him leaving. Hes from MWC, went to school where hes now the head coach...hes SET for life, barring a long string of losing seasons or a catistrophic failure of some sort!
Gundy is 4-2 in Bowl games and has gone every year(7 straight for the team). I'd like to see him stick around and win a BCS championship for Stillwater, but you never can tell with some coaches/players.
I like Gundy, he has done about as good of a job as you could do at Osu. He's not going anywhere. Unfortunately I don't think he will ever win a National Championship or Osu will just because the facilities and being in a small town. It's just not a great "draw" for national recruites. Last year was their best chance to win one, all the chips fell in place for them and I don't know if they will ever have another team that good. I think Gundy loves them to much to leave.
Guys, this has been a fabrication by the shiester agent he hired. The agent is using this to help prop up the other coaches he reps for the ark and tenn jobs. He did the same thing last year with AtM, gundy has not interviewed for any of these jobs.
The guy who wanted this job since high school? The guy who was "groomed" for this job for years? Gundy currently has a whole lot more stroke than Holder. That can change but his recent record is just elevating his stature at OSU, but isn't that great when compared to others with more years under their belt, it's getting better with each year but...
If he leaves it'll be because the riff between him and Holder is a whole lot wider than anyone thinks. Financially he's set for life, he's making great money for any locale but lives in a very low COL city. He's landed his dream job and is by any reasonable measure doing very well in it. He ain't going anywhere.
I think Larry Fedora goes to Tennessee and Gundy stays in Stilly.... at least long enough to finish the landscaping around his mansion, which is no where near complete.
My take is that Gundy was/is disappointed at how long and how difficult his contract negotiations were and interviewing for a couple of jobs is his way of saying to Holder "don't take me for granted just because I said this is my dream job."
