Well you know I suppose that will depend on the officer and how their day has been going up to the point they ask you .
I suspect this ohp guy was in the park for to meet up for a rub & tug or maybe lip service and his date was a no show!

And he decided to take his frustrations out on the first person(s) he saw.

Granted that the abused was not the best with words!

The big question I see, is what is a "highway patrol" doing in the park?

Is it not their job to be out on the highway harassing poor innocent truckers?

Now a big big question is..... What if...... Lol

What if 12 big dudes would have been there watching this go down, and decided amongst themselves that they did not like the way this officer was behaving and decided to do a citizens arrest?

Would the outcome been better if the the big dudes cuffed the officer with his own hand cuffs, behind his back, tied his feet to the cuffs and placed him on his belly in the back seat of his own car before backup arrived?

Asking for a friend!

Naturally the couple would have turned their phone camera off (battery went dead I guess 😉) before the big dudes got filmed, and the big dudes left before backup arrived!

I'm not a huge fan of the popo but the deer watcher is a complete idiot.
Yeah, his alligator mouth sure turned around and bit his canary butt on that one--none of that happens if he doesn't start running his yap after the initial contact. I don't think the Trooper handled the second part of the interaction well, but that gal needs to give Mr. Loudmouth a good dope slap (or five) upside his stupid head.

If stopped for an infraction, the driver must identify themselves. Infractions are still technically crimes. As such you’re being placed under arrest and a ticket is your summons to court. The Supreme Court has ruled it is unlawful to not identify yourself. You can hold your license up to the window, you just have to identify yourself. See this most often on DUI checkpoints. You don’t have to role down your window.

The only time it becomes an issue is if the passenger commits an infraction such as open container or not wearing a seat belt. Then they must identify themselves for the same reasons the driver was required. The cop must have independent reasonable suspicion to detain a passenger unless he just asks him to stay in the vehicle for Officer safety reasons.

Once the Officer asks the passenger to exit the vehicle he must have articulated reasons for detaining the passenger further such as searching the vehicle or not wanting to alert other nefarious characters.

I’ve see this go a hundred different ways. At the end of the day, case law is not 100% clear on the subject so Officers are generally covered under qualified immunity for even egregious acts.

Officers can also stop you for reasons that fall under the community caretaking doctrine. Enforcement from these stops is a grey area under case law. I don’t know many Officers who would take a chance enforcing anything with that kind of stop. Drivers would still need to identify themselves as having your DL is required to drive.

This is the basis for DL checkpoints.
Texas Supreme court has ruled DUI "safety" checkpoints are constitutionally illegal and are no longer allowed to perform them.

The parks are part of their jurisdiction. Their Marine Enforcement Division (known as the Lake Patrol when I took drivers's ed back in the day) enforces the regulations on the lakes.
Most people don’t realize how much shore line Oklahoma has. After the dust bowl man made lakes were constructed throughout the state.

-Oklahoma has 11,611 miles of shoreline, more than the combined non-tidal coasts of the Atlantic and the Gulf of Mexico.

- No other state has as many man-made lakes: 200

Dad was being a mouthy dick as the LEO was leaving. That is what made the cop turn around and ask for his ID. At first the cop was polite about it but the guy was acting like he had something to hide. Outstanding warrants or tickets maybe. Whatever. If the guy had kept his mouth shut it would have ended when the cop went to leave the first time. Just because you have the right to be a mouthy *****, does not mean it is a good idea.
