I have no problem with federal legalization of marijuana. Might even partake myself.
I would really like to see an accurate field sobriety test for THC though, at least as accurate as the current breathalyzer test.

Could you imagine the MSM attack on MMJ if Trump would have done that? Anything Trump was for, the MSM was 180 degrees against. That is really the difficulty in legalizing marijuana at a Federal level vs alcohol. I took my last drink of alcohol over a year ago and wasnt a big drinker for several years before that, but I did really enjoy the light bit of relaxation without feeling impaired that THC provides. Plus it is the closest I have every gotten to a truly restful night of rest.
I would definitely be more likely to enjoy an occasional dose of THC in a social setting if it didn't bring the federal legal issues with my firearms with it.
All of that said, the fact that it is still a Schedule 1 narcotic blows my mind. I think Trump missed out on a huge opportunity just getting it rescheduled a little lower to allow for prescription as medication at least. I think he would've really improved his standing with people that were slightly left of center.
"but effectively it's already gone.".April fools joke, but effectively it's already gone. If they actually tried to argue that legal state users were illegal users federally, they would basically have to put the directors of the state regulatory authorities in a cell next to El Chapo. The federal government itself is also complicit, because they knowingly collect taxes from what is federally an illegal drug cartel. Probably the biggest thing protecting users though is that big banks are directly involved in huge multimillion dollar grow operations. Suffice it to say, if they were to start pulling at that thread lots of hedge fund managers, CEOs, banking execs, and government officials would all be facing life in prison.
That's actually not true. The state of Oklahoma has a specific law restoring firearms rights to card holders, in opposition to federal law. It's illegal in the state of Oklahoma to deny someone firearms based solely on their use of medical marijuana."but effectively it's already gone.".
What's already gone? A marijuana card holder cannot legally purchase a firearm in Oklahoma.
