Most of you guys seeing the kites must be in the western part of the state.
I’m in Edmond and have had 2 or 3 soaring around the house for a month or so. I’ve got a bird feeder and have wondered if they are hunting over the feeder. I’ve seen them go through the yard at fence high level a few times. I haven’t found any evidence such as feathers in the yard but I’ve heard that kites eat small birds. Most of you guys seeing the kites must be in the western part of the state.
Chickens are too big for these smaller type hawks. Eat mostly cicadas. We have about 10 or so nesting. Cool to watch them fly into trees for the bugs or catch them in mid flight with their feet.

I've got two sets out here at my place. One set on the east side and one set on the west side.....not a crow in sight.

I saw one lonely crow come swooping to the ground the other day. He was escorted out of the area quickly. By the way, I use to do a little loving around Lake Overhosler too....back when boys liked girls and vice versa.Really?? I have all three -- chickens, kites and crows. But I also love next to Overholser, too ... So maybe there's just enough room for everybody out here?
