New speed limit on Texas Highways!!

Just heard on the news that Texas has raised the speed limit on it's highways to 85 M.P.H. , I think I like that idea, I wish Ok. would do the same thing!!

It won't fully take effect until 2013. Apparently before the speed limit gets raised, the texas highway department will have to conduct engineering studies...the new speed limits won't be in force until that has been completed. It will probably be mostly limited to west texas where the 80 mph speed limits are currently

Isn't that only applicable waaaay out west, like running between El Paso and Midland/Odessa?


I dunno', but I got stopped out there at 7:00am on a Sunday morning going 110mph and got off with a verbal warning.
I think he clearly understood there was nothing better to do....

Sounds good to me. I see no reason that the major highways between major cities shouldn't be at least 85, though I could see a problem with people abusing it right after it went into effect.
