This sounds good and all but, we're dealing with a federal government that allowed the buying/selling of human beings, reneged on almost every treaty signed with native Americans both pre/post Indian war years, and interned Japanese Americans during WWII. And, there just so happened to be a Constitution and Bill of Rights then as well. No man made government or words written on a piece of parchment grant freedoms.....we are God given born with them. Our founders only codified it when they wrote it down. Sadly, that type of wisdom and leadership does not reside in DC anymore.

If the Feds really wanted to throw a wrench in the works, all they have to is withhold Federal Money from 2A Sanctuary states. Want help repairing those roads? Need Federal money for (pick one)_____________ Project? Try wishing in one hand and pooping in the other and see which one fills up first.

We saw this with the seat belt laws, changing the speed limit to 55 mph, and I believe when we had the metric system in relations to highway infrastructure rammed down our throat years ago. Gone are the days when we had leaders like this:

I think a lot of it is posturing and used as a way to send a message to both other states and the Federal government.

On the other hand, wouldn't the municipalities in California that implemented restrictions on capturing and deporting illegal aliens be a similar situation? It is still a self-proclaimed sanctuary area from Federal law, it just hasn't been challenged yet that I am aware of. I think San Francisco was the prominent one I am thinking of.

And weed. Pot is still a scheduled drug against federal law (I believe a bill was written to take it off but not sure of the status). BUT states have legalized it.
