It really comes down to my own ******* fault.
Went to bricktown to see the new harry potter movie in bricktown. Didn't know if I was going to go anyplace else in Bricktown so I removed the mag and left the gun in the car. Hung around outside of Harkins after the movie and then decided to call it and I got in my car and went home. Didn't even bother to check to see if the firearm was still wrapped in my shirt in the car.
While driving, I get a bit hungry, but decide to go home to use the bathroom really quick. I get home, relieve myself, check my email and decide to go out for some food. This whole time the gun was "presumably" still in the car.
I get the in the car and start driving and reach back and find the shirt empty...
Grrr... I'm so mad at myself right now. I've never been that careless about leaving my gun in my car like that and to add insult, I don't recall if I had left the door open on accident or not. Out of habit, I've always just stuck my key in the door and turned it to unlock it. I didn't pay attention to see if the door was already open or not. Nothing else in the car was touched. Just my firearm is missing.
Words cannot describe how disappointed I am with myself and how careless I was. My Dad bought me that glock for my birthday last year and has been my everyday carry.
Anyways, in the offshoot that some gun shop owners or pawn owners who lurk here, it's a Gen 3 Glock 23. It has a hogue rubber grip and Meprolights tritium night sights (2 dim orange in the back, bright green in front). It's loaded with Speer gold dot 180 gr .40S&W bullets. If you need the serial number, PM me.
It comes down to me being too comfortable and careless and as a result there's someone out there running around with my handgun.
