Apples to oranges man; apples to oranges...sorry to hear the guy got his pistol stolen, but making sure it's secured is important. Stealing and rape are a tad different types of crime. Stealing is cowardly theft, done unbeknownst to the person being stolen from; rape is an act of violence.

Not trying to be a hard ass here, but if you own a gun, I think you should make every effort to ensure it doesn't fall in to the wrong hands. 'Nuff said by me; I can see some others on here do not agree...and that's their right. Kumbaya.

truly I see theft as violent. it involves some form of force or aggression and leaves you feeling violated. If I leave my weapon in my vehicle and lock my vehicle that should be good enough - given I personally don't leave it unless I have to, have an alarm and will typically lock it in a lock box or glovebox and lock it as well.

And without knowing what he drives I know for instance Hondas and Acuras have notoriously loose locks (have used an s2000 key to open my old honda and a dodge truck key to open it as well)
