Also not sure if this guy handled this the best way. I feel like he could have achieved the same effect while also being less of a jerk

I think he did a very good job. Well prepared with his statements, maybe a bit argumentative, but when you're being treated as a criminal with no reasonable suspicion of having committed any criminal activity, I'd be a bit irritated, too.

Kudos to him for posting it!

He is a jackwad. Obviously he was fully prepared and asked more questions than the cops! He's trollin around looking for these kind of stops.
I think I would have handled it a bit more cordially myself, you can get your point across without being an asshat.
