I didn't laugh, I worry about this every time I go to H and H or other ranges. Doesn't help seeing bullet holes in the lane dividers, the sill, the ceiling and in a variety of places they shouldn't be. Wonder if it was buck shot or bird shot? One may laugh about a shot in the ham, but hip, colon, bladder and other worse issues could have resulted.
Spot on.

If I would have been there when it happened, I would have been checking the dude for first aid action, just after twisting the barrel and removing the perp's weapon from him. Absolutely no laughing matter.
But sitting here at my trusty PC, it hit me hard in another sense of wow that is funny, and I am never sure why that I have those types of reactions. That dude was probably seriously injured, no laughing matter. Sitting here in my Safe Haven, I just have to laugh though.

The H&H deal. Man I am absolutely blessed to have never been to a range to shoot. One of the Greatest Privilege's of living in a Rural area with Land that I can shoot and hunt on, most without even asking permission. One place I have a clear view with over a one mile distance, with a surrounding set of small hills for a backstop.
I do not take it for granted either.

I do frequent H&H to look for bargains. Only ever found a few in the last twenty or so years. Ear Muffs, a couple of Kershaw knives, stuff like that. Have purchased some overpriced ammo components too, not many. Just purchased due to, I was there and it was convenient.
I do think my main deep down interest in going there is the fact they have a large range, that you can observe and check out other shooting styles and stances, weapon types in action. The percussion sound is cool. Every time I go, I see some pretty serious gun handling safety violations. Like more than One shooter on the line while one of them is shooting, not instructors either, just buddies hanging over a shoulder, watching with loaded weapons. Overhand grips on semi auto's another cringing site. Muzzle sweeps, lots of stuff. I do not know if there has been serious injury there, but I bet there is a lot of different Blood DNA's stained into the floor. Heck I always feel a sense of I could accidentally get hit by a stray bullet, as soon as I round the corner of the parking area. Always someone looking at there pistol or rifle in the parking lot, then the professional slide rackers, they always make me nervous. People get way to comfortable handling arms, careless.

I try my best to stay safe and move slow. I try to practice repetitions with safety. I pretty much always shoot alone now a days, most of my hunting buddies have passed on. I have made many, many, mistakes. I Have had Three very distinct careless discharges. Fortunate no Blood from them. I have pulled the trigger many times on walking trips and as soon as I fired the fear of where did that bullet go. I did not have a good sense of my background, shots could have gone close to a rural house, or some one could be in that tree line. I have been hit with buckshot more than once on Quail Hunts, first one when I was about Twelve. I advise wearing layered clothing and a hoodie on bird hunts, with eye protection. Choose Hunting buddies carefully. Might be a Double 00, in that chamber.

I am not trying to brag or gripe, just killing time here with my bare hands and Open Heart, in Hopes of when I share my experiences it might help others make better decisions.

Guns are always Loaded. They are Always loaded. They are always Loaded.........
