Two, both in "West Germany" at the time. Second tour Walther P38 not a P1 post-war unfired in its original box, this was one of the all steel versions, paid 350 through the Rod&Gun store. Filed papers with ATF to return to US. Got my notice with the red marks all over it, listing it within a series of serial numbers not allowed into US.

Fourth tour, Beretta 1935 made in 1951 brand new in the box for 200.00, same thing happened again with ATF.

Yes I filled out all paperwork correct, just didn't make their point scale or was a batch of serial number restricted guns. Doesn't make any sense, it just sucks!!

A 1973 split bumper Camaro, complete but in pieces, 350/350, with extra 327. Needed to be put back together. Only $1000 asking price. Didn't get it because it would have been under a tarp in the yard, and didn't want a $1000 pile of rust. That was in 2001 I think. Kick myself every day over that.

The 1968 Shelby Mustang GT350 convertible previously owned by Lee Marvin, listed on eBay. I could've bought it for $125,000. I just couldn't find a banker to work with me on the loan. It didn't sell at that time, 2 yrs later a buddy called me and informed me the car was just sold at Barrett's auction for $500,000. :faint:

Several that I still cry over:

1974: German MP40 WWII bringback with papers from the guy who brought it back--grandfather of a guy I worked with at the time. $200

1976--S&W Model 29 8 3/4" barrel. NIB. $75.00 (I was a student at the time and didn't have the extra cash)

1984--Any and All Class III firearms. I mistakenly was under the impression that the $200 dollars was an annual fee per gun.

1985--1919 .22LR Tippman belt fed full auto. $600 (who would want a full auto 22?")

snif, snif, snif.
