i have a ohp bud, and he wants to do some of the games but hasnt got a chance yet. so there is some kind or waiting list.
As with all PD's there is a "list" generated when a position becomes available.The selection is usually based primarily on seniority,and test scores if it involves a rank increase.These are department and union rules.I don't know how this got derailed ,like so many threads,but I always thought the coaches escorts were considered an assignment by OHP.We will wait for GC,he is after all our resident trooper, to sign in on this and then it's done.
I have heard, and this is not confirmed in any way, but I have heard that the Universities contract that security detail out with the OHP. So, it is an official OHP job but it is paid for by the Universities. Again, this is what I have been told on a couple of occasions. Hopefully, someone who really knows can chime in and confirm or clarify for us.
