Doesn't Nocona still make boots? They have a factory in Nocona, TX. In another thread, I was told that Nocona still made ball gloves.

They do. My brother in law took his then girlfriend's daughter to the factory for a tour and picking up a fitted softball glove just before COVID hit.

Not only made in America, but made in Shawnee Oklahoma. A pretty good price for great jeans that are made in the USA.

I just got off the phone with one of my old customers about his custom wheels he was excited to sell because they are now MADE IN THE USA. His customer contacted him the next morning to let him know 2x were flat. New wheels and New tires. Long story short. Pin hole leaks. The company that laid me off months ago had opened two MFG plants here to help STOP shipping it from china. BUT. its hard to get the employees in that YORK SC plant to give a cent at doing a good job. So thousands of missboxed leaking wheels have been produced. THEN add that with these two working plants. The production was slowed from the china plants. NOW causing a low inventory issue for that company who bet a lot on US MADE product. So just because its US MADE. Doesnt make it WELL MADE.

I bought these a while back but they are the most comfortable 'walking' shoe I've had yet (I have wide feet) and they are MADE IN U.S.A. (Maine/Massachusetts)*

*To be considered as being MADE IN U.S.A. at least 70% of the item has to be manufactured or assembled within the United States or its' possessions.

It’s aggravating that “Made in the USA” western wear is very hard to find. The Wranglers brand is the most disappointing to me. I’m not a big clothes shopper, but I haven’t been able to find any western wear that’s made here. I bought a new pair of boots last spring, and I couldn’t find any made here with the exception of custom made boots. I didn’t want to spend $1000 for a pair of everyday work boots. I’ve mostly wore Red Wings for most of my life, but they’re now made overseas. After looking and researching for several weeks, I finally settled on a pair of Tecovas. The company is based in Texas, but the boots are made in Mexico.

i peruse the "antique" shops with my GF and believe it or not there is always at least ONE seller who has vintage hand made (not asian child) western wear for men. at some shops, yeah you aren't getting A SINGLE ITEM for less than triple digits, others you can find ABSOLUTE STEALS.

i snagged a pair of old real gator boots, yeah they are a little beat up (believe it or not, nobody likes shiny boots they look stupid) but i paid $40 for them. i wear them when i meet movers and shakers and someone always compliments them, so i just laugh.

it's extremely hit or miss, and you what you might pay outrageous prices for at one store, you might find a private seller than has something similar for next to nothing.

i think the biggest advantage of hitting the antique stores is most people aren't going looking for clothes, let alone mens clothes, let alone vintage western wear. if you know what you are looking for, you CAN find great deals.

the antique co-op on SW 16th in okc has the best stuff, but if i were still in SW OK i would just hit up the ndn garage sales around anadarko. someone will have a box of them that they'll sell you for $5 or $10.

I get Luccheses on sale...at a place online called Cowboy Chief. My last two pair were the same price as Tecovas.
There was an outlet but I think they opened a regular full price store in the city.

Redwing still has a few USA boots and so does Wolverine, but yeah, they're all making most of their stuff overseas. Mexican boots though are still some of the best you can get.
Ariat - big fat no. All their boots are chinese.
