I was once a HUGE fan of Danner boots. That's all I wore...on duty and off. They've gone all hipster with a lot of their stuff now. And, half their boots are made in China (with American made prices) and the models that are American made cost an arm and a leg. Another American company that's really been a big disappointment over the past 10 or so years.

Bought a livingroom set, according to what my wife read online, made in the USA. Last set was US made too.

I went to basic and tech school with a guy from the Broyhill family...furniture company from NC. I bought a Broyhill dresser some time ago and it was made in the USA...still in NC.

I was too, wore the mountain lights for a everyday shoe, usually buying a fresh pair to wear wherever while the older one was for work.

Last ones was the explorer at around $175 in 2012, next time I went for a fresh pair. "We dont stock them any more!" "But we can order them for ya @$350!"

A quick look danner factory direct is $440

Thats crazy!

It makes sense if you don't think about it.
