They're liars, folks.

All of them.

So Rep. Martin, who introduced HB2522 that most of us were all in favor of, is a liar? I don't see how generalizations like that help at all. We've got to pay attention, figure out who is on our side and support them, and bust the chops of those that are against us. Lying down without a fight is what cost us our 2nd Amendment rights to begin with.

It is time for voter imposed term limits. Never vote for the incumbent, Democrat or Republican. I fear that the only thing that is ever going to reset our Country's course is the watering of the tree of liberty. I pray that I am wrong as the cost will be great but the cost of inaction will be greater.

SB1733 would need 2 amendments before it would be good. It would need the state preemption clause where one could not be cited with a disturbing the peace style violation simply for open carry and it would need the ability for LEO to demand a permit just because. Without the second people would have the fear unlicensed people would carry, and without the first cities could essentially ban open carry by issuing citations for other thing.

You want to start down that slope of allowing police to stop an otherwise law abiding citizen and ask them for their papers?

So what incentive would any elected official have to do anything other that use his/her elective powers to advance their own agenda for the one term they were in office.

The motivator is face to face confrontation; town-hall meeting style. However, I suspect it would be hard to get them to attend.

I wish someone could ask Russell a simple and direct question - "Did you think HB2522 was going to become law with the committee changes you made". If the answer is "yes", then he is either lying or has made an incredibly naive error. If the answer is "no", then he doesn't deserve the credit that some on this board have given to him.

That makes sense. Of course, sometimes we all make mistakes in voting for the right candidates. Russell was supposed to be pro 2A (and for all i know he may be).
Isn;t there a faint chanc this thing may still pass.....after the house IS more pro2A than the senate?
If so, russell will be a hero! What a legacy....wow!
as opposed to: what a legacy....ugh..

With all respect, how do you know that? Whatever form of open carry we eventually wind up with it will be new and uncharted water for LEO's and the public , but unless I have read it wrong here the majority will still carry concealed. I do believe that some will carry open but not very many. If we never get our foot in the door with some form of open carry that can be modified latter on, we will come up empty again.
