Several were made for us that have the pocket for the filter. We use filters made from dryer sheets, and change the filter and wash the mask after every use. Seemed like a bit too much at first, but it really isn't that big a deal.

I have some doubts about the level of protection it provides me, but it is quite obvious that the masks help protect others, and it just seems like the polite thing to do.

Fair enough, but I have yet to see one person post or wear anything other than material used for clothing when it comes to these types of masks.

Yes, that would be me. I also have the surgical masks.I wear those sometimes too when my "homemade" masks are being cleaned and new blue shop towels are being inserted. People can read all the pros and cons they want to justify whether they choose to wear a mask or not. For me in mine and my wife's circumstances I'm trying my best with what I have to stay safe and also to keep other people I come in contact with safe also. I pity the fool who tries to belittle or bully me for wearing my mask. It won't be a pleasant experience I assure you.

I made a t-shirt mask, doubled the material and it has a pocket for a HEPA vacuum bag filter. Easy to make/maintain and wears well.

A guy on youtube makes masks out of car covers/shopping bags and AC filters and said they test out equal to or better than N95's.

Isn't there some evidence of aerosol transmission now?

I'm not being argumentative, I'm honestly curious. I'm not sold on the cloth masks, especially with all shaming and virtual signalling that's going on. I DO however think they are better than an elbow as I stated previously, but that's just me.
No, there isn’t. That’s the point I was trying to make. Using that study and extrapolating it to SARS-CoV2 is difficult if not impossible. They aren’t closely related enough.

From everything I'v seen a majority aren't made this way though. All the videos and posts on social media don't go this far at all. Don't doubt some are smarter about it, but y'all aren't the majority by a long shot.
