How about a straight sales tax and end this BS.

Flat tax sounds fair right?

Do people that pay more federal taxes get more benefit from said taxes paid than people that pay less percentage?

Will the people that can afford smart and sharp tax lawyers still end up with loopholes, that lower income people dont get, that will let them pay a less per dollar earned % ?

How about this?

If you are laid off from work, through no fault of your own, and you sign up to receive unemployment benefits are you a moocher?

The unemployment funds were extracted from your former employer against his will by the authority of government.
Doe that make you a moocher?

Ive been to Wal-Mart on the 1st of the month and seen this. I agree that 'Access' cards are being used on things that are not healthy, but why is that?

Do they buy the junk food because they taste awesome or because they get more bang for their buck than healthier groceries that takes skills to cook?

I grew up in an area of southern California that wasn't the best of neighborhoods, and what I'm about to write is from personal experience.

My family was never on welfare or anything like it, but I had a lot of friends who were. While some things might be different now, back then, at the first of the month, the parents would make one large trip to the grocery store to buy groceries for the entire month. They limited driving because gas costs money and they didn't have enough money to spare sometimes.

The food they would buy would be non-perishables: canned goods, frozen dinners, mostly. Fresh food didn't last long, and was considered a luxury to many of my friends' families. They'd buy fresh items, make a big dinner and freeze/stretch it out as long as they could, but, sure enough, it'd get eaten and the family would have to resort to TV dinners and canned spaghetti.

So, these kids grow up with poor nutrition/eating habits, and it followed them into teenage and adult years. I have a friend, Brad, who hates authentic Italian, or even fresh, homemade Italian, because it doesn't taste like Ralph's brand canned spaghetti. He doesn't blame his parents for this, and makes a good point in that, back then, nutritional information and education wasn't as readily available.

While some people are completely dumb when it comes to their/our money, some simply do everything they can with what they have.

In my opinion we must take care of the elderly and handicapped, and it doesn't hurt to give someone a couple of years of assistance to get on their feet, but there needs to be better control of what types of foods that can be purchased with Food Stamps/Access Cards, if you're so poor that you can't afford to buy your own groceries than the least you can do is prepare your own meals and fix your kids a PB&J sack lunch. It's ridiculous to blame Oscar Mayer for marketing Lunchables, it's up to the individuals to make the right decisions.

You say NO that people that make more money and would pay a bigger percentage get no greater benefit from the Fed. Government for their extra $$$ paid?

I disagree.

People that pay more taxes make more money, obviously. How do they do that? They use more government resourses to make that money than I do.

Wal-Mart absolutely gets more benefit from say roads, bridges, Hwy's, or any other items of federal tax expenditure than I do.

The Waltons make more money (God Bless them for being born to Sam, no fault of theirs) from using government resources than I do.

Not hating them for making more money and using more resources, just stating a fact. If I owned a QT, Id definitely get more benefit from fed. taxes than customers that patronized my store.

Wasn't this whole "You didn't build your business" thing already played out by Obama? It seemed to have failed miserably. Business taxes that Wal-Mart pays help go towards those roads and bridges. The fuel taxes that their trucks pay go towards those roads and bridges. The sales tax that they generate goes towards those roads and bridges...
