What is being suggested is that if you use an access/food stamp, government assistance program, you can only buy from a specific list or certain products. Flesh it out and we should have a government run super store that only welfare types can use. That way we can regulate how they eat and spend our tax dollars.

I don't see a problem with this.

I'm guessing that you'd have found a way to start your business without the Goverment's help if it didn't exist. If you're referring to an SBA loan, then I'd also argue that the Government didn't really have much to do with it anyway... it's still a loan from a bank, just backed up by the SBA. If your business plan wasn't solid to begin with, you'd have still been refused. Chances are that if you'd have just gone in without the SBA backing, you might have been successful too. The bottom line there is that millions and millions of Americans every single day find a way to start businesses and make it without Government help. I'm confident that you can too.

EDIT: OH and I wouldn't really consider an SBA loan to be an entitlement anyway.

Ive never got an SBA, My bro and I put our own money on the line, :wink2:

I meant I couldnt have started my business without a safe society, roads, bridges, hwys, post office, fair business practice oversight from FBI, SEC, ect.

You don't benefit from the roads that bring all kinds of goods and services to your doorstep? That bring your customers to you? That allow you to travel freely? In fact, you benefit from Wal-Mart being able to thrive as well... It's not as cut and dry as you may wish it to be and quantifying who gets MORE benefit isn't even the point is it?

I agree with all this.

Bash all you want, LOL.

No, not all people on the 'dole' are helpless. Are all government loans, grants, tax breaks to rich people legit?

I don't really want to bash them, but seriously it is very concerning how many people are taking advantage of government entitlement programs. Should we as a nation and a people be trying to help people in such a way that we're reducing the amount of people dependent on the government? Heck that's even what Clinton believed...

No not all loans, grants, breaks etc are legit and I am not for them as I said earlier. I'm in GTGs camp of doing away with all the cumbersome and crazy tax loopholes and code.

In fact, I'll go out on a limb and say that most of the OSA membership is smart enough to know that there is abuse at all levels and we just want something done about it. What seems to torque people off pretty easily is when they can see, hear, touch and smell the entitlement abuse right in their backyard and they KNOW the people who are doing it so they have a pretty good handle on how legit it is.

Anyway... it was a good thread. You make a good point but I honestly think that everyone here really wants corporate tax welfare to go away just as much as the rampant entitlement programs.

I guess I just don't understand giving away credit for something that you as a citizen of this nation are responsible for just as much as every other. I suppose if you weren't paying for all of that, then it might be a different story. Perhaps we live in different Americas? In mine, I pay for roads, bridges, highways, post offices, FBI, SEC salaries, etc...

I give you the credit for your business. Kudos to you and your bro. You guys are living the American dream...
