Quite un-nerving that someone would be burglarizing your home while you are asleep. My Okie wife and I lived in Queens Village in NYC for (6) years; and that time, we the house was burglarized twice, (with us sleeping) a car was stolen, and another was broken into and tools were stolen from the trunk. I commented to one of the police officers after the first home burglary that I intended to get a shotgun because the knife drawer was left open in the kitchen and a butcher knife had been removed and left out of place near the thief’s exit which indicated an intent to cause harm if confronted. He replied,” If you shoot him or are found with the weapon in my home and did not have a license, you will be arrested!”
