Wow. I meet at a public place, exchange a handshake and money for firearm, and drive away.

This. I prefer a place like a QT or Sam's Club ow Walmart just because they are generally busy.

I always just figured since the deal was struck on a gun forum, that we knew the other was armed. I feel much better about that than when I am selling our old baby stuff to the great unwashed from Craigslist :D

a few IM's/calls/texts, meet somewhere central "I like Basspro", inspect, make the deal, shake hands and BS a little. Im a CCer so im not a bad guy. With that said, im not filling out any paper work. Its not that I have anything to hide, its just im a bit old fashion that way anything more than a hand shake and I think that person may be hiding something.

Make the deal online, meet in the parking lot of a commonly known location (Atwoods, Lowe's, Walmart, etc), make the exchange and head out on the highway looking for adventure.

When you sell a firearm to an OSA member, friend, or someone from armslist.com what steps do you take?

1) I prefer to meet at a local range for three reasons. The first being it's not odd seeing someone with a firearm in the parking lot. Second there are a lot of other armed individuals besides myself. Last but not least if the person wants to test the firearm they are more than welcome to on their own dime.

2) I never go unarmed (CC) or alone and I always bring at least two people with me.

3) I ask for an ID to make sure the individual I'm selling the firearm is of age to purchase said firearm (21 for handguns and 18 on all other firearms).

4) I remember the license plate of the vehicle that they drove and keep all info from our contact (cell phone, e-mail, ect)

Are there any other steps you guys think I should implore to make my transactions safer? I'm open to any suggestions and would like to know what others do during their face to face meets?

Well, I guess I can add 'neginfluence04' to my "Do Not Sell" list. Geez, get a life. If you want to play policeman or FFL, I suggest you go into those professional fields

If 3 people showed up to meet me to buy/sell a gun I would be a little worried. I can just picture 3 guys getting out of a truck, one with his hand on his hip the other with pen and paper taking notes. I have lost track at all that I have bought and sold here. Method is same as others, pm or email, exchange phone calls, meet up and then either haul ass to spend the money I made or go to the range to shoot what I just bought.

Whats next? Snipers on the rooftops? Armed backup in fast response vehicles?

don't critique or judge me cuz I like to be secure....

when I sell (or buy) off OSA or armslist - arrange meeting show up - make deal - maybe BS a few - go on about my way.

if I don't feel right about any of it either I do some quick searching by name or contact info, bring a buddy, or call it off.

At least two other people with you? If I drive up to make a purchase and there's 3 or more people standing there I'm gonna keep on driving. Bringing a buddy if you want is fine, but getting up to 3-4 people then you yourself look like you are trying to be intimidating instead of cautious and would throw up red flags for me.
