I was talking about the position the police or ATF take as they don't give that much validity to a private bill of sale for a gun, because they know they aren't always legit, unless notarized and even then they can be iffy.Well, sure you can lie about. I don't buy/sell a firearm w/o paperwork. Buyer know this with the first contact. If they don't agree they can buy somewhere else.
I keep track of my collection and file EVEYTHING what comes in and goes out.
And if I get a call 5yrs later that one of my guns was used to commit a crime I can tell you exactly to whom I sold it to and when.
I'm still waiting for someone to provide citation of a case where someone was found guilty of a crime that they didn't commit, with a gun that they sold to someone else, from the last dozen times this issue has been raised
Either way I dont make transactions in alleys behind drug stores anymore! Never again!
