I live in Ponca City so I usually ask the seller to meet me at the Stillwater exit on I-35 if they are from OKC area . I have done 4 or 5 buys at the Conoco there without any problems. I have them meet me at the Sand Spring Walmart if they are from the Tulsa Area. Once while I was buying an Armalite AR-10 at the Walmart two cops were watching us but, never came over to check us out. I've never had any problems buying or selling in parking lots. All of the members on here have been great to deal with.

I just have to add that I have done a few transactions with OSA members, and I have never had any inkling of anything hinky or untoward with any of them. Even had one bring his very young kids when they were on the way to the dentist. I have mostly met in parking lots, but have gone to private residences as well. I talk to the person for a minute or two, make a decision in good faith that they are not a felon or a mental defect, the gun is not stolen, etc. and then make the deal. In my opinion OSA folks are the top 1% of people you can deal with. That being said, the only ftf deals I do are from OSA or inside a gun show. Sometimes I take my wife along as well, because she has PMS 24/7 365, and if anyone acts stupid she will emasculate them. Ask me how I know.

Well, sure you can lie about. But one thing is for sure; you will have the proper phone# on the BoS.
I don't buy/sell a firearm w/o paperwork. Buyer know this with the first contact. If they don't agree they can buy somewhere else.

I keep track of my collection and file EVEYTHING what comes in and goes out.

And if I get a call 5yrs later that one of my guns was used to commit a crime I can tell you exactly to whom I sold it to and when.
I was talking about the position the police or ATF take as they don't give that much validity to a private bill of sale for a gun, because they know they aren't always legit, unless notarized and even then they can be iffy.
I sure ain't giving anyone detailed personal info due to all the identity theft. I'm buying a gun in a private sale not filling out a loan application. I buy at gun shows from private sales and have never given them as much as my name let alone my address or phone number. Truth is a seller has never even asked me any questions at all, I guess I have a trusting face and winning personalty.
And the truth is the ATF figures that 99% of the time the seller won't be able to provide any info on a private sale anyway. At least that's what they have told me and others that I know, who have been contacted by them. I once sold a handgun to a guy and several years later it was used in a crime in another state. The ATF called me and asked if I had any info on who I sold it to and I said no. They said they figured that would be the case, said thanks and that was the end of our conversation.
But, everyone has a right to cover their ass anyway they want to. If I don't want to comply with their requirements I can move on down the road and buy from someone else.

I have had the pleasure to have FTF deals with several of you, both as the seller and as the buyer. Never once have I felt any concern. Some of us can seem a little "strange" online, but it seems that most of us clean up pretty good when we go out I public. And the BIG PLUS to tis is I have met some very nice people, not to mention being able to purchase some nice firearms. A big thank you to all of you who made this forum a fun site!

The little post next to the big house
I'm still waiting for someone to provide citation of a case where someone was found guilty of a crime that they didn't commit, with a gun that they sold to someone else, from the last dozen times this issue has been raised

If the guy shows up and he's a "one armed man", I'm a little hesitant to complete the sale...

If I am buying I make them come to my work, I copy their drivers license and exchange cash

If I am selling I make them come to my work, fill out a 4473 and call it in. If they are approved they pay for the gun and walk out with it.

Either way I dont make transactions in alleys behind drug stores anymore! Never again!
