I have had people walk up to my place to buy a gun I posted on Armslist, see my Beretta on my side, and turn around and get back in their car, and leave!

Also had them ask if they were "safe"

That is hilarious!!! LMFAO

You have guns registered in your name? You buy and sell a lot of NFA stuff or do live someplace other than OK?

Are you being serious? No, I own no NFA items. But everytime I've purchased a firearm new the dealer has checked my driver's license to make sure I am who I say I am and I fill out a 4473 that includes all my personal information. Are you telling me that the S/N is never recorded and tied to my name? If that's the case then I have been misinformed for quite some time.

I generally only deal with established, contributing members from here, meet in a public place, shake hands and either count my money or clean my new gun later depending on which end of the deal I'm on.

Whenever I am buying a gun from someone, I ask ahead of time if they have any issues with me running the SN on the gun, when it comes back good I get a quick bill of sale, both of our names, SN, selling price, and signature. I have only been told by 1 person that I could not run the #'s, so obviously I did not buy.

Last rifle I sold was a Mannlicher-Carcano M91/38 in 1963.

Never caused me any problems...

Was it somewhere on Harry Hines Boulevard, and did the buyer go buy the Ammo from John Mason. I think I remember a LEO holding up that firearms on TV. I heard a pristine bullet was found some where. I hope I am not the only one who got this.

What do you think they do with the 4473's. You think they have a national data base that they report them to?
