I stayed up really late on my computer with windows '98 to tell me it was Jan 1st 1990 all over again.

I was at work at the Ok County Jail. We were staffed up for all of the chaos that was obviously going to ensue. It turned out to be a quiet night.
I left there in 2001....never missed it.

In Denver Co. building out the Exodus Data Center. Spent the night in LODO District with the crew and dined/partied at the Redfish. Spent a shi*load of other peoples money. We were in Denver for about 6 wks. that year.

In Japan at my first duty station Submarine Group 7, thirteen hours ahead of the U.S. waiting for the equipment to freak out and, I don't know, try to take over the world or something. There weren't any preparations that could have been made, no CMOS chips that could have been replaced or firmware that could have been updated. We were using 1970's and 80's technology for telecommunications so we just had to wait and see. Pretty easy night.
