Academy and AR's, mags, and ammo!

I went to Norman store on Monday. Scored a 1k round case of .223, 460 rd case of 5.56 xm855 and a 1400 rd bucket of .22. That was a strange day. I was 3rd in line until like 630 am.

Yeah, it was luck for sure. It is rather silly that you can get a box of 5.56 and a box of .223 because some of the employees think they are different. Technically, they are different since you would not want to shoot 5.56 from a gun with a barrel marked for .223.

I gave up on Academy months ago, I work so there is no way I am going to be able to get in line that early in the morning to buy anything. Unless I run across it at a Walmart or go to Basspro I guess I wont be buying much until this calms down.

I live just south of the 81st street store and work in Norman, so this last week I started leaving a little early to get to 81st st at 7:45, stand in line for 15 minutes, and get what I can then driving to norman and seeing what's left there before heading into the work at 8:30. Got a few boxes of .223/5.56 ammo. Both places were out of any cheap 9mm both Wednesday and Friday.

I was wondering if people were still waiting in line in the morning. I've avoided Academy for the past few months. Sounds like things might be getting a little better.

The only way it'd be worth it to go to academy is if you could get a whole case of whatever ammo you were looking for. Not just one box.

Yeah, if you are one of the first 1 to 4 people in line, you have a pretty good chance of getting some bulk ammo.

I was hoping with the ar ban being dropped things would be back to normal for the rifles at least.
