There was a news story on Fox yesterday I think about a self-proclaimed experienced hiker who was lost somewhere up in the mountains. They had an unexpected snowstorm and now rescuers were having to go look for him because his girlfriend is beside herself, as no one knows where he is.

I'm always amazed at "the need to find myself" mentality.

Hope this guy is safe but having lived in the mountains in the past all hes gonna get is clean air to breathe and a break from the wife and kids. The man you saw in the mirror is the same one you'll see when you look again.

So I just read all 10 pages and it's rather sad. I understand the need to get away but not taking (or possibly not taking since no one really knows) a phone or a GPS device in case of an emergency is kind of a death wish (In my opinion.) I don't see a problem with it if he wasn't married but if he dies he just left his wife, the woman he loves, heartbroken and a widower, because he was being selfish. Regardless I hope he makes it home safely. Exactly what day is he suppose to be home again?

I think that is what is bugging everyone else. Next week is when he is supposed to be back. Obviously, the weather has changed. I hoped he packed his longjohns, forecast for early next week is snow with highs in the upper 30s.
