okay here;
i can afford the most expensive car in the world; you just have to pay for it.

i don't understand why people buy houses they obviously can't afford. if you have to have a renter pay for the mortgage; sounds like you weren't wealthy enough!

would we accept this model for *any* other commodity?
what isn't too expensive when you just get someone else to buy it?
if no one bought houses to rent out where would you live?

call me a commie; if you own a home you don't live in it should be taxed so much you are disincentivized to own it.
.....yeah i know. that's my point. you are financing something that *someone else* pays for, then when it's payed for you kick them out and take it yourself.
and some of us don't do that. who finances guns?

....you guys buy guns on credit?!
in this case, your analogy would be someone financing a fan or a rifle, making someone else use the fan or rifle, but off it entirely plus....ya know a little live on amirite?, then just give the rifle or fan back after paying for the entire value plus. that's not at all "financing" and you know it.

the FIRE economy is bs. you can't build a nation on finance, insurance, and real estate at the expense of screwing over the "poor" you like to chastise.

you guys sure seem upset when "no one is working" and you can't get your big mac in the drive thru anymore holy cow. fwiw i make plenty of money and i'm certainly not poor lol.

and the other shoe drops..... as it always does.....

You can't have your way due to decisions you've made, so the government should tax someone else so you can live better? Where have we heard that petulant child rant?

We’d have $12,000 houses and a strong money. Print trillions and everyone thinks a few million is money….sad really.

BTW the divorce took the millions away for me, live within your means.

A single worker could earn a living , buy a new car (3000ish), take vacations, and raise kids.

Since the petrodollar there is no control, we’re not richer I contend, we’re just seeing what uncontrolled money spending is doing. JMHO

hate walters love some of the old music.

My first house was in spencer.
$22,500 was the price less than 300 a month payments this was in 1992.
I rented before that for 9 months.

I drove a $100 pinto.
I would hit dumpsters on the way home to find tossed out good food and other stuff.

I drove my car around where asplund had cut trees and around the lake to find firewood to heat the house as Gas heat was too much.
I had a wife and 2 kids also.

I had a hatchet and a bow saw to cut my firewood.
Always had odd jobs and fixed many cars for people and I would not toss 1 piece of aluminum/steel or other item in the trash as I could sell to the recycler.

I did not have a cell and I did not have any pay TV and never went out to eat.

Can of green beans and can of tuna fish for lunch and fountain water was free.
I would not buy soda or chips from a machine.
I was super happy at the end of the month when house was full of groceries and cars were full of gas
and we had $8 in the checking account and all bills were paid.

Thrift store only clothing or dumpster or stuff I found on the side of the road.

Million more ways to save money.
I saved a lot of money and only took 2 years to pay off a house here in Yukon.

I still saved and cash bought my other houses. I have money and all my houses are paid for and I still get clothes at the thrift store and I am not ashamed to dumpster dive.

I have been flat broke on my own living in a refrigerator box.
I never begged or took free money and knew there would be better times.

You can't group all home owners or landlords into the same box.
Some of us have had nothing and know what that is like.

I have a bad attitude towards (Idiot rude bosses) and I knew I needed to find a way to make money
where I did not have to answer to the man.
As the MAN was usually going to get on my destroy him list.

I do not like to have that list so my income is my paid for rental homes and fixing things for people that are broken.
Most of the time I do not even charge to fix broken things.
I just like to help people in need because I have been there.

There are cheap $10,000 houses out there just look on craigslist.
I paid 10K for my last one.
My wifes friend just bought one in Elreno.
They are living in it fixing it up and do not have any running water.

They will make it though with time.

And I ate road kill back then and still do today.

Takes more effort to live off the system than just go get a JOB!

If you didn't sign a lease you are screwed, judge will order your eviction and that landlord won't accept your rent past what is owed already.

There is no pleading your case, gaining sympathy or none of that. Added that your spiral here shows you are NOT fit for court!

Next is where you will go...start looking now! Depending where you are you have some options. NW 63RD and MacArthur has one called solarie. It ain't the best by a stretch, but it is 4 walls and a bucket to deficate in.

They have 1,2, and townhouses.

2bdrm is what we had for 3 years...850 I think is their rent now for 2bdrm and 2bath.

The landlord is a real she ***** too...she will spot a problem person pretty quick.

As for the comments about woe is me...grow up, world doesn't owe you anything. Never did and never will. You being here doesn't mean you get a pass.

I did 7y in the navy and when I got out....my parents didn't want a murderer in their home so I was homeless for over a year, and still held a full time job.

No reason to whine about your circumstances. You keep going, make friends and be an upstanding man back to them.

Stay out of anything North of Expressway and South of 39th.

It is important to fully grasp the scope of how screwed people like the poster is in today's world.

Yeah your house was xxxxx back in 92, and you made whatever, but today...right now July 9th 2022 average income is the same as it was then number wise, and a house costs 165k with 9% interest rate....electricity is gonna be 200, natural gas is 100, insurance is xxx and blah blah.

It isnt the same, not by a long shot and the "pull yourself up by the bootstraps" is not gonna work. I get you ate roadkill and survived, but I know myself....I don't want to "survive". I want to live!

Now this guy who made the post is obviously freaking out. So instead of saying "just shake the money tree" buy a house....blah blah.

It won't work like it did for you. Hope you get that.
