I remember when the Guvmint was first wanting to put low-income housing in that area. Homeowners fought tooth and nail, but lost. Can you imagine working hard, saving your $$ to buy a beautiful home in South Tulsa, and then having a bunch of animals moved in next to your neighborhood?

Mayor-boy Dewey has been on TV talking about declaring area a "nuisance". I wish they'd pull up some of the old television coverage of the inception of south Tulsa public housing.

They must have put the sign up afterwards. We all know signs stop criminals in their tracks they never would have killed anyone if the signs were up.

Easy with your double edged sword Ted.

If people are required to demonstrate literacy prior to voting they might as well be required to demonstrate safe handling practices prior to purchasing a firearm. They are both constitutional rights, but we are only going to allow you to do so as long as you prove you are capable of doing so in a safe manner, or at least what the government feels is a safe manner. It becomes a very slipery slope.

That area was originally looked at for the Oklahoma Aquarium. I had a friend who opened a small business in the area taking a chance that the Aquarium would go in. But instead of bulldozing the whole area and putting in something that would bring economic prosperity to the area they went with public housing. Shortly after it was announced Jenks won the aquarium he moved his business out of the area. Wal-mart at 71st went away shortly afterwards as well if I remember right.
