Way too many?

I have the feeling that you are just trying to cause an argument. You are entitled to your own opinion as much as everyone else on this board, including me. It's easier to put down someone/something else when you aren't in its place. So answer me this Bruno2, who do you suggest take the place of the LEO's when they aren't any left? Who do you think is going to be there to bring justice to the person whose going 120 while intoxicated and not only hits, but kills your mother? Do you think they are just going to turn themselves in? Who do you this works those wrecks? Or an even better question would be who do you think could have prevent that wreck? Think about it.

Here ... Let me answer that ... In several counties of the state there is ONE trooper assigned to that WHOLE county.

At any given time of the day or night there are not more than THREE troopers assigned to any given major turnpikes ... the same turnpikes that run from one side of the state to the other.

Funding for academies has been non-existent for 3 of the last 5 years, I believe. I am also pretty sure (although I don't know the exact number) that there are just about 2/3rds the troopers working today that the department had 10 years ago. Again, I am not sure about the numbers there, but DPS as a department is woefully understaffed right now.

My mom taught school for almost 40 yrs here in Tulsa. When she retired a couple of yrs ago she was making a little over $35k a yr and that was for a Masters degree with hrs toward her PHD. Along with teaching qualifications that were required to teach the special needs kids. I have a GED and make a little over $50k and dont work a full 40 hrs a week either. You guys can say what you want about the teachers unions and the quality of the teachers we have . If it wasnt for their union the state of OK would pay them minimum wage. Everybody keeps bitchin about the teachers in our public schools and for the life of me I cant figure out why. If they made any less money all we would have would be illegal mexicans teaching our kids.

I think the troopers should take the hit for the team and odot also for that matter. Their jobs arent as important as an educators. Sorry BB no offense intended thats just how I feel about it.

How much does each superintendent per district make?

Can anyone answer me what these troopers do all day? I personally see no less than 2 cruisers sometimes 4 sitting in the Science Museum Parking lot every morning for around an hour, I have sat and watched them just sitting there drinking coffee and screwing around on their smartphones.

If someone can lay down cold hard facts that these troopers being let go would somehow make anyone's day to day life safer let alone reducing the crime rate I am all ears. IN all seriousness most police officers go for the easy target and easy $ for state revenue, and arguing that they should keep there bloated pensions and benefit packages to pull over speeders is futile to me, they need to be kicking in meth-labs doors and shutting down the cut and package distribution houses I know are a-plenty here for the Mexican cartels for their cocaine, heroin, and meth. Stop busting college kids smoking pot in a park on a Saturday night to get that easy revenue and do something useful and constructive with my taxes and then we can think about letting them keep their jobs. Because right now their jobs consist of hassling the common man and shaking him down for more $'s while simultaneously turning a blind eye to real violent criminal endeavors because they want to be police officers, but they get to choose what they enforce and on who.

So you see 2-4 cruisers on YOUR daily route to and from wherever it is that you go, no doubt the shortest, fastest route to wherever, that you make seconds shorter by speeding and cutting in and out of traffic - risking the well being of others. Do you crisscross the state on every major and minor road or do you think that they should be escorting you on your daily ventures? What are YOU doing all day? I don't ever even see one of you on my daily outings. Do you know what their shift hours are? Are these officers coming off duty and completing the piles of BS legal papers while comparing facts, or are they discussing strategies that keep you alive everyday before they venture out to risk their lives.

I HATE it when people put down LEO's!!! I have been called a hero I don't know how many sickening times for getting blown up. All while on my 2nd 300+ day tour of danger. These people are deployed pretty much EVERYDAY of their careers! They also have a little thing on their shoulder, and when it makes noise they know for a fact they are headed into danger. It is their job to go look for, seek out, and stop all the nastiest crap our domestic enemies have to offer. They know that when their number is called on a radio that they walking into a bad situation where they are going to be no doubt unwelcome by all sides.

Yet little cry babies with total disregard for basic laws and a glove box full of speeding and dumb dumb tickets want to complain about them. You would be GRILLED if you spit or cussed at a soldier today, but the men and women that are responsible for enforcing laws that keep decent people from cleansing the gene pool are fair game for whiners....

Get mad the next time you get a ticket for breaking a law you know exists, from someone charged with the duty to enforce that law, all the while knowing exactly that 911 will save your butt and that same officer could very well be applying pressure to your bleeding broken body when you finally see why there are laws.

64 million sperm and you where the fastest....... GO FIGURE!!! This although in response to your post is not directed only to you, but the other "people" on here that complain about the only people between them and this country being the open war zone that a few of us spent a limited amount of time in to be "heroes".

Annnnnnnd I'm off the soapbox:rant:

I am pretty sure he just stated what he thinks they should be doing and not doing. I didnt read anywhere in his post that they should be escorting him around. If you dont see him on your outings then maybe he is where he is supposed to be.
