With regards to "it might be used to keep us in." I think it was a bad choice of words and mostly based on sarcasm as he sees what's unfolding in Washington right now.

A fence isn't needed anymore to keep people in. Without a passport, you're not getting out. And even with a passport (if you can get one) you can still be kept from leaving. It use to be that you could go to Canada or Mexico easily with just a driver's license for ID if that.

The Palestinians will be applying for UN recognition in a few days. From what I read, the whole world will vote for it, the US will veto it.
When that happens, they'll hate "our freedom"even more.

"It should not come as a shock to anyone in this room that the U.S. opposes a move in New York by the Palestinians to try to establish a state that can only be achieved through negotiations," State Department spokeswoman Victoria Nuland said last week. "So yes, if something comes to a vote in the U.N. Security Council, the U.S. will veto."

And:

The upgraded status would give the Palestinians greater access to U.N. agencies, including possibly the International Criminal Court, where it could make criminal claims against Israel.

im pretty sure i heard Ron Paul in a debate say he wants a fence and thats the first thing he would do.he said he'd do that before he started deporting them.i think of America as a boat.the boat has a hole in the bottom (Mexico U.S. border) and you have 3 choices.you could let the boat fill with water and you could sink, you could scoop handfulls out one at a time and eventually sink, or you could cover the hole and then begin to scoop the water out.

Have you seen the border crossing into Mexico at San Ysidro/Tijuana? I personally have. You can walk right over, or drive right in at a full 70 mph clip. There is absolutely no security on that border.

The office of POTUS is overrated. Basically, it's just a glorified administrative assistant's job for Congress. Congress makes the laws... most being outside the bounds of the 18 enumerated powers and in violation of the Constitution (which in and of itself makes them invalid, null and void). The POTUS then executes those laws. Then of course the Black Robed Bandits decide the final say of the law and the sheeple take their word as Gospel... even though it is the People who are the final arbitrators of the law and not the BRB's. Americans are so gullible and ignorant. Bleet, bleet, say the sheep...

Reality check. You can't save everyone and in the end, you can only expect you to be responsible for you.

I know the big-government, nanny-state lovers just hate to hear that, but them's the facts.

Constitutionally, the government shouldn't be in the health business... Again, I'm sorry to Big-government, nanny-state lovers that post here. I know, personal responsibility is offensive to many. I'm sorry.

I've heard BHO talk about all of us engaging in personal responsibility, so it shouldn't be a stretch for Lib-o-crats. Just sayin'...

About 1 in 20 SCOTUS decisions result in a later Congressional action directly in response to that decision.

As for the sheeple taking their word as Gospel, there are a few cases from the last couple of sessions that would say otherwise. See Snyder and Citizens United. (Of course, I would venture an educated guess that 99% of the public do not even know the actual subject matter of Snyder...)
