I also like Fig Newtons. To this, my wife bought the Walmart Great Value copy and they were better than the name brand.

Same is true of vanilla wafers. The "off brands" are MUCH better than Nilla Vanilla. More taste and crisper, too. Grumpy never bitched at me again for buying the "cheap ****".

Mondelez now owns Nabisco. They seem to be reducing ingredient quality or trying to increase packaging efficiency which is producing a “drier” product. I was really surprised on how much better WM’s brand was.
