The section of the law you are referring to speaks to things that are not specifically authorized by the authority of license. That doesn't mean that everything else not listed in that section is good-to-go.

Other activity is regulated by other parts of the law....as in open carry of a loaded firearm. Those sections do not differentiate between intentional display and accidental display.

Would you do me a favor and link me to the section of code that outlaws this? I'm not saying I don't believe you, I just had some trouble finding it myself. I don't think the law says what you're implying it does, but I am having an issue displaying this.

Yes, I've looked it up, and the law states you are not allowed to carry a firearm about your person loaded, except under provision of OSDA. The OSDA states that it doesn't authorize you to intentionally display firearms.

I'm pretty sure he'll be okay with OSBI, unless they take issue with the knife.

He sees a gun on a person who is near a school. How many school shootings have occurred in recent history. How many of those shooters were considered dangerous at the time?

Hi, Matt, I agree with the overall direction of what you said, but please don't buy into the media garbage on this particular issue.

There are a wide variety of theories/opinions on the school shooter offenders, but IME, the only ones who aren't saying they got too much/too little hugs/porn/violence on TV and were totally decent kids/people beforehand, are: Dan Korem and Stanton Samenow, PhD.

Violent offenders are not surprises, most people just don't like thinking like hunters.

So the OP was rolling through a school zone and was not on school property. No law broken there. I agree with a previous post, I'd be looking into the reason he pulled you over in the first place if he knew you had a permit before he stopped you. Just because you're riding through a school zone does not make that school property. My $0.02.

That may be true, but it would take a while, and based off the story of the OP, this went down fast, doubt he called in got the driver info of the plate, then called up osbi to inquiry about a ccw, cause if he had done that I suspect the whole thing would have gone down differently.

Someone isn't telling the whole truth, the officer or the OP, about the officer knowing he had a ccw from the plate.

Just my two cents

It did happen fast from the point the lights went on. The officer was running my info before he pulled the gun though.

Actually, he does. If you post in a public forum you should expect that not everyone will agree with you ... I am starting to see why YOU might have had a problem ... :coffee2:

I am a very cordial person, and treated the officers with the utmost respect. I posted my situation here expecting to be burnt by some people. However, I find the lack of tact used by hoorayebay to be unacceptable. I respect "not beating around the bush", but his post is just a playground bully type comment, and even I am too old for that.
